With the new H-E-B coming soon to our community, many of you have voiced concerns that the store’s shopping carts might become a nuisance in our area. We know carts from other stores have been used by residents and homeless populations to transport groceries and personal belongings, then the carts are often left to litter the community.
We are happy to report H-E-B shopping carts will be equipped with Carttronics wheels that lock if a cart leaves the store’s parking lot.
We appreciate H-E-B’s quick response on the issue and look forward to the new store. We also thank Washington Terrace Civic Association President Jason Hyman and our Super Neighborhood President Tomaro Bell for their support on the matter.
There are many critical issues in our community, so we really need your voice. We invite you to attend the next Riverside Civic Association general meeting at 6 pm. Thursday, July 11, at Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 3015 N. MacGregor Way. We will return to the Energy Institute High School, 3501 Southmore, beginning in August.
(The Riverside Civic Association is bounded by N. MacGregor Way, Highway 288, Blodgett and the Columbia Tap Bike Trail.)
Have a great day!
Joy Sewing, President
Riverside Civic Association
